Where Online Therapy Is Available

Online psychotherapy is currently available in four states:

  • Connecticut: Online psychotherapy and in-person psychotherapy in Oxford
  • Maryland: Online psychotherapy
  • Virginia: Online psychotherapy
  • Florida: Online psychotherapy

For online psychotherapy, your physical location during the appointment is what matters — that may differ from your home address or state of residence.

What Online Therapy Looks Like

Online therapy is psychotherapy conducted through real-time video rather than with both of us sitting in the same office. We can see and hear one another throughout the session, talk through what is happening in your life, notice patterns, explore concerns, and work toward the goals we have identified together. The technology changes the location of the meeting; it does not turn psychotherapy into a self-guided program, text exchange, or mental health app. At Mind Body Well Therapy, psychotherapy is provided through live video rather than by chat, email, or text counseling.

For some people, meeting online simply makes therapy more workable. It may reduce travel or fit more easily around work, caregiving, or other responsibilities. Others prefer to be in the same room with their therapist. Neither preference is right for everyone.

What You Need for an Online Session

You do not need elaborate technology or a perfect home setup. Generally, you will need:

  • A phone, tablet, or computer with video and audio
  • A reliable internet connection
  • A reasonably private place where you feel able to speak freely
  • To be physically located in Connecticut, Maryland, Virginia, or Florida during the session

Your setting might be a private room at home, a quiet office, or another appropriate place where interruptions can be limited. The goal is simply to have enough privacy and stability to give the session your attention and speak comfortably.

You can visit Getting Started & What to Expect for more about beginning psychotherapy with Mind Body Well Therapy.

Traveling, Moving, or Meeting From Another State

Life does not always happen from the same address. You may travel for work, spend part of the year somewhere else, visit family, or relocate while you are in therapy. Because your physical location during an online psychotherapy session matters, please let me know if you expect to be somewhere other than where you are usually located in Connecticut, Maryland, Virginia, or Florida when we meet.

You do not need to research licensing rules yourself. Contact me before the appointment, let me know where you will be, and I can determine whether we can meet as scheduled or need to make another plan. The same applies if you are preparing to move — we can talk about what the change means for your psychotherapy and what options may be available.

Online or In Person in Connecticut

If you are in Connecticut, you may have two ways to work with me: online or in person at my office in Oxford. Some people know which format they prefer. For others, the decision depends on travel time, privacy at home, work or caregiving responsibilities, or simply how they feel about meeting through a screen.

You do not need to choose based on what you think you should prefer. If both options are available to you, we can consider what seems most workable as part of discussing fit and current availability.

Is Online Therapy With Mind Body Well Therapy, Pllc a Good Fit?

Being in one of the states I serve tells you whether working together may be geographically possible. It does not tell you everything about whether I am the right therapist for you. One-size therapy does not fit all people or

I provide Holistic Integrative Psychotherapy for adults, with care tailored to the person rather than a one-size-fits-all model. My work may be especially relevant to thoughtful adults, highly sensitive people, caregivers, healthcare and helping professionals, and people who have been carrying a great deal for a long time. You may be seeking support for anxiety, emotional exhaustion, difficult patterns, life transitions, trauma-related concerns, high sensitivity, or a sense that something in your life is no longer working as well as it once did.

You can explore the Integrative Psychotherapy, Holistic Therapy, and other therapy pages on this site to learn more about my approach and the concerns I work with.
